Mermaid National Champion 2011
Winner — Master’s Trophy 2011, Winner Celia No.5 Trophy 2011
National Yacht Club’s Roger Bannon (on helm) with Eoin Hickey and Patrick Boardman sailing No. 183 Endeavour to victory during Mermaid Week 2011 hosted by Tralee Bay Club. Of the six races Roger and crew had two wins, two thirds, a sixth and an eleventh place.
They also won: Master’s Trophy for helms older than a certain age! Celia No.5 Trophy for boats older than 40 years Rockabill Cup for winning Race 1 and Doreen Cup for winning Race 4 |

Runner up — Mermaid National Championship
National Yacht Club’s Jonathan O’Rourke (right) with Carol Cronin and Dermot O’Neill sailing No. 77 Tiller Girl to 2nd place during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Johnny and crew had a win, a second, two fifths, a seventh and a ninth place.
They also won: Mavis Cup for winning Race 2

Third — Mermaid National Championship
Rush Sailing Club’s Anthony Carthy (on helm) with Eoin Butterly and Ciaran Hand sailing No. 188 Innocence to 3rd place during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Anthony and crew had two seconds, a fourth, a sixth, an eight and a tenth place.
This is Anthony’s best ever result at Mermaid Week.

Fourth — Mermaid National Championship
Skerries Sailing Club’s Sam Shiels (on helm) with Con Bisset and Andrew Sexton sailing No. 189 Azeezy to 4th place during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Anthony and crew had a win, a forth, a fifth, two ninths and a twelfth place.
They also won: North Bull Cup for winning Race 3 |

Fifth — Mermaid National Championship
Rush Sailing Club’s Jim Carthy (on helm) with Muriel Carthy and Paul Carthy sailing No. 123 Vee to 5th place during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Derek and crew had a second, a third, a sixth, an eight and two tenths.

Winner of Daphne Perpetual Challenge Cup
Rush Sailing Club’s Enda Weldon with David Weldon and Sean Weldon sailing No. 186 My Di to win the Daphne during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Enda and crew were first in the Daphne once, second twice, fourth twice and seventh once. They finished 9th overall and therefore cannot compete for the Daphne next year.
The Daphne is awarded to the best boat that competed last year, but was outside the top 15. |

Winner of the Designer’s Trophy
Rush Sailing Club’s Alan Butterly with Lynn White and Clara Butterly sailing No. 90 Deirdre to win the Designer’s for the first time during Mermaid Week 2011. Alan and crew won all of the six Designer’s races.. They finished 21st overall and therefore cannot compete for the Designer’s next year.
The Designer’s is awarded to the best boat that was outside the top 25 last year. |

Winner of the Celia Trophy
National Yacht Club’s Dan Brennan with co-owner Brendan Martin and Mary McCormack (of Foynes) sailing No. 21 Aideen. Dan and crew finished 26th and will thus be awarded the Celia Cup. They will, therefore, be favourite to win the Designer’s in 2011. |

Winner of the Crew Race
The Crew Race was not held in 2011, due to both unsuitable weather and the need to resail one of the championship races.

Winner of the Munster Trophy
Foynes Yacht Club’s Vincent McCormack with Luke McCormack and Róisín McCormack No. 119 Three Chevrons to win the Munster during Mermaid Week 2011. Of the six races Vincent and crew was first in the Designer’s four times, had a third and a fifth. They finished 20th overall.
The Munster is awarded to the best boat from a club within or on the coast of the province of Munster. |

Winner of the Rush Cup
Rush Sailing Club’s Paddy Dillon with Ruairi Grimes and Graham Burns sailing No. 131 Wildwind. They won the Rush Cup for being first in Race 5. They came 9th overall. |

Skerries Sailing Club’s Frankie Browne with Frank Browne (Jnr) and Mariana Browne sailing No. 135 Cara II. They won the Baily Cup for being first in Race 6. They came 6th overall. |
